It’s hard to believe that another year has came and gone, with 2018 on its way out the door…what have you missed? Here’s a few games you’ll want to play while they’re still relevant, and just in time to catch at the end of the year sales!
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, with the Blackout mode, this game has quickly became a favorite among my friends and I. We jump in a quick match, or we can sit and play it for hours. This game mode always feels exciting, new, and like you have the world at your finger tips.
Subnautica, this game is one of the best survival games I’ve ever played. Maybe because it’s so different, but mainly because it is so incredibly fun. The graphics are so beautiful and if you love aquariums or underwater imagery, you’ll definitely enjoy that aspect. As for game play, it keeps you going, you want to know the next mission, you want to complete it, you want to be scared because you don’t know what is going to come swimming at you full speed.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, this one is expected, because I love all the Assassin’s Creed games and I have since the start, but this latest release is a testament that they’re listening to what players want. While this game could have a few, small improvements, it’s still definitely one that you don’t want to miss.
Spiderman & God of War, I’m putting these two together because while they’re both great games, they’re limited to people with Ps4, which if you’re not a PlayStation fan, that can be frustrating. However, they both have amazing graphics, engaging game play, and leave you wanting more.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, this game is a classic that only keeps getting better. This latest version feels like it has just as much excitement for the solo play as it does for multiplayer, and for a fighting game, that’s saying something. I initially bought this game for my children, but found myself offering more help than they wanted. They finally just had to give me a turn, so that I could fully jump in and explore this game. This is by far the best release of Super Smash Bros, that I have ever seen.
Red Dead Redemption 2, my newest game of this year is finding it’s way to this list. I often enjoy playing with friends, or not at all…but Red Dead brings on a more enjoyable solo experience in gaming than one I’ve had in a long time. With a story line of over 60+ hours, there is always something entertaining to do. This is the game I’m turning to more often than not when my friends aren’t online and I’m about to enjoy some solo play. Knowing that I have so much time to build up my solo play can be daunting, but the time is passing much quicker than anticipated and I think this is because of the awesome characters in the story.
