You are probably asking yourself, “can I cash in my achievement points for fabulous prizes?” That depends on your definition of “fabulous.” While you won’t have the luxury of exchanging achievement points for a Cloak of Elevendy Billion Stamina, you will be able to get some nifty show-off items like non-combat pets and tabards.

This is a huge step forward for the World of Warcraft Twink community, particularly the team players who focus on winning rather than those who make a mad dash for the enemy’s graveyard and proceed to set up shop for the remainder of the game. Achievements for playing solid defense? Check! Achievements for taking out the enemy flag carriers? You bet. An achievement for winning….a lot? Absolutely. Achievements will be featured in a new window accessible by hitting a button on the main action bar. The Achievement window will list your points, completed objectives, and your progress toward objectives not yet completed.

It has been said that you’ll find boredom where there is the absence of a good idea. Well, it looks like Blizzard plans to live up to their end of the deal. The WotLK Achievement system promises to be both a great idea and a much-needed breath of fresh air for World of Warcraft’s Twink community.
