Warcraft movie has its director!

We’re pleased to announce that Sam Raimi, famed director of the blockbuster Spider-Man series, has signed on to bring the forces of the Horde and the Alliance to life on the big screen in the upcoming live-action film based on the Warcraft universe.

Discuss Full info on WoW-europe mainpage (And probably on the US page too)

the fact that the story is told from the alliance perspective as well as the fact that it is live action (make up covered tauren???? ) will make it incredibly hokey. Blizz should have just cgi'd the whole storyline ala opening cinematics/star wars clone wars. watching an actress play a night elf druid will be laughable.

additionally it will just underscore the perception that this game is for basement dwellers

I think it could entirely one way or the other to be honest, CGI can go horribly, horribly wrong too.I'm really keen to see what the make up is going to look like, LOTR didn't do too badly with prosthetics and a lot of Sam Raimi's work is bitchin anyways.

Quietly excited about this.

idk man the orcs and goblins in LOTR didn't do much for me. humans in green muscle suits and deep angry/wormy voices. And they didn't feature female dwarves for a reason (they would have looked silly). The shots of the hobbits in relation to full size humans also looked terrible imo (there were about 3 as I remember). then again all night elves have to be are pointy eared humans with cgi eyes

when I watch the vanilla wow intro cinematic I get pumped watching the tauren shaman and dwarf hunter. Now I picture that same scene with a huge black guy with a Blizzcon tauren mask carrying a fake tree trunk, and I laugh.

Im more interested on the plot, and not the characters looks in general.
If it turns out to be something like "DragonBall" with a horrible plot compared to the Anime, then they shouldnt even start.

I hope that they find relatively unknown actors for this flick.

Jeremy Irons haven't been the same since the flop of the D&D movie :<

if it's remotely close to lord of the rings, then it should be good.
