i have been a shiv rogue since i hit 70, i find shiv to be a very good build. they nerfed http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=35553 so that shiv can't give energy back anymore but it is STILL a very solid build, plus you don't have to spec deep down combat anymore.

(i have only been 70 for about 4 days /played thus the crappy gears. but i twinked at 19/29/39/49/59/69 therefore the 70,000 life-time kill.)

and i just saw a highly respected rogue's blog article that justifies this build, so you 79 twinks might want to give it a try

just a quick reminder, if you 79 rogue twinks decide to rock the shiv build, you should stack attack power and stamina and pretty much ignore agility/crit rating/hit rating, you also should use a 1.4 sword/mace instead of a 1.3 dagger, because shiv, like most instant attacks, is normalized(2.4 for mace/sword, 1.7 for dagger)

would be your best choice, it's BOE too, so no need to worry about experience/drop rate.

you should also use a fast main hand for more poison procs, I would suggest a good dagger, that way, you can open with ambush when you feel like it.

so [Lifeblade of Belgaristrasz] would be a good choice for mainhand.

shiv will be nerf'd so that it can no longer crit in 3.10 so i guess this build will become pretty bad once 3.10 hits, but before then, try it out and have fun while you can!
